From "Mekong Commons" to "Mekong Community"

An international symposium titled “From ‘Mekong Commons’ to ‘Mekong Community’” will be held at Chiba University. In cooperation with the Mekong Institute, the only intergovernmental and international organization in the Mekong Region, we are inviting experts from the government, academy, industry, and civil society who are active on the front lines of the Mekong Region to discuss the conditions and elements necessary for the Mekong Commons beyond the boundaries of literature (Historical Science, Sociology, International Politics, International Relations, International Economics, Development Studies, Agricultural Economics, Geography, Public Health, Biotechnology, Engineering, Agriculture, Soil Science, etc.), and we will propose the concept of a “Mekong Community” for which knowledge should be gathered.
